Toyota Repair: 1996 Toyota avalon starter 6 cylinder, toyota avalon, reman

Question
My Avalon would not start. When I turned the key there was one click each time I tried to start the car. I let it sit a few days and this morning it started right up. Do I need to replace the starter or is it something else? And if I do, where is the starter and how do I replace it? Thank you.

Answer
The click is the contacts in the starter.
You can buy a "terminal kit"
and rebuild it.
Not to difficult to do, just look at the parts you get. Pretty self explainatary
Toyota reman starters are good but expensive. BEWARE of aftermarket rebuilds.

The starter is located on top of the trans. Need to take the cruise acuator and battery out.
