Toyota Repair: Speed Sensor - 93 TOYOTA 4RUNNER, toyota 4runner, speed sensor

I believe I will have to replace my '93 TOYOTA 4RUNNER  speed
sensor. Can this be done fairly easily? Where is the VSS located
and what steps can I follow to manually  replace the parts
myself. Also how much should I expect to pay for the new part?

Problems = speedometer not working some of the time and
when accelerating from a stop sign the car does not gear down
to 1st regularly.

The speed sensor is located on the rear of the transmission on the left side and has a 12mm bolt attaching it, there is an electrical connector on it, I would advise buying the new part first so you can identify it on the transmission. I can't give price information because they vary too much from one location to another.
