Toyota Repair: 2001 Corolla front brake job, wheel studs, brake job

Question
I am planning on performing a front brake job (new pads/rotors) on my sisters 2001 corolla next weekend. She will be comming from out of town and since I am not that familiar with the car I want to ensure that there are no "suprises"

Are there are any special tools or procedures required to remove the old pads/rotors? My experience on other vehicles has been to remove the front wheels and calipers, then take the clips off the wheel studs and slide the old rotors off

Answer
After removing the brake pads form the calipers the piston must be pressed back in to make room for the new pads, this can be done with a large pair of channelock pliers or a tool made for this purpose, after the calipers are off, the rotor just slides off the hub, it may have some rust on it and may have to removed by putting two 8mm bolts into the threaded holes to break it loose from the hub, most of the time a little tapping with a hammer will loosen it.
