Toyota Repair: 1999 4rhnner antenna repair, antenna mast, telescoping mast

I HAVE A 1999 4 RUNNER WITH AN AUTOMATIC MOTORIZED ANTENNA THAT TELESCOPES UP AND DOWN AS THE RADIO IS TURNED ON OR OFF.  THE ANTENNA NO LONGER GOES UP OR DOWN BUT I CAN HEAR THE MOTOR RUNNING. DO I NEED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY? I ALSO WILL NEED A NEW TELESCOPING MAST SINCE I BENT THE EXISTING ONE.  IT A 4RUNNER LIMITED, V-6, AUTOMATIC 4X4. IT SOUNDS LIKE A GEAR IS STRIPPED. What you need to do is replace the antenna mast, it's about $24 at the toyota dealer, I don't sell any parts I only give technical advice.
After you get the new mast do the following:
Turn the ign key on
Turn the radio off
Remove the top nut on the antenna
Turn the radio on
Let the antenna come all the way out
Now compare the old antenna cable to the new one, if both are the same length the mast did not break and you are in luck.
With the key in the on position turn the radio on and wait for the noise to stop.
Insert the antenna mast into the antenna opening with the teeth facing to the rear.
Have someone turn the radio off
The cable will pull in
Reinstall the top nut after the antenna retacts all the way.
If part of the cable with the teeth is broken off there is a piece of it stuck inside the motor and it will have to be removed and disassembled, let me know if this is the case and I will get back to you on how to do that part.
