Toyota Repair: igniter, carburator, spark plugs

Toyota 1987 , carburator ,engine 22R
my engine stopped all of a sudden without any reason...why?


Answer
You need to check to see if there is spark at the spark plugs, disconnect one of the connectors and put a screwdriver in the end and hold it about one half inch from a ground, there should be a spark jumping across when cranking the engine, if not the distributor or the coil/igniter maybe the problem.
Check to see if fuel is getting into the carburetor when opening the throttle.
