Toyota Repair: Engine Oil, valve stem seals, valve seals

Question
I have a 1994 Toyota Camry w/V6 engine. It still runs great and I'm not ready to buy a new car. The problem is latey it seems to be drinking oil, when it idles I can smell a strong odor of fumes coming through the vents inside the car.

The oil stick seems to read 1/2 quart low ? I had it checked and there isn't a visual sign of oil leaking anywhere ? What could be going on ?

Thanks!

Answer
Possibly valve seals, check to see if on cold starts there is a lot of blue smoke from the tailpipe, this would indicate that the valve stem seals are leaking and need to be replaced, if there is smoke from the taipipe at all times the engine's piston rings are the problem, both conditions will require major repairs.
