Toyota Repair: Fuel Door Wont open, flat spring, gas in my car

Question
Hi,

I went to put gas in my car, and now my fuel door won't open unless I have someone there to open it while I pull on the lever.  I know the black post retracts all the way when the latch is pulled, but the door won't pop open.  I haven't been in any accidents or anything, it just started happening a few days ago.  What could be wrong.  The metal part of the latch is bent at a 35% angle and the small metal piece in the middle of that is bent at a 45% angle is this right?

Answer
There is a small flat spring attached to the hinge, it seems that it may be broken, you can get a new one from the dealer, the old one will slide off and the new spring is snapped on the hinge post, the service dpartment will probably install it for you at no charge.
