Question
well i got a 1989 toyota corolla and i wanted to know how can you tell when youre struts are out and if the shocks have gone out can can i replace the ones i got and place some that are higher because i put some wheels on the car and the tire is barely rubbin on the bottom part of the strut so i wondering if its just doing that because the struts might be out and they have dropped the size of the wheels are 16 in. the orignal size wheel was a 14 so if you could give me your advice that would be greta thanks hope to hear from you.

Answer
WELL 2 WAYS.. THE CAR HAS EXCESSIVE BOUNCE! AND THEY MAKE ALOT OF NOISE AND GIVE A HARSH RIDE... ALSO IF THEY ARE LEAKING!
WELL THE RIM/TIRE COMBO U HAVE IS WRONG. YOU NEED TO GET THE PROPER OFFSET RIM TO FIT ON THAT VEHICLE. YOU ARE DOING WHAT IS KNOWN AS A STAGE 2 TIRE UPGRADE(GOING UP 2 INCHES). THE THING YOU WANT TO DO IS KEEP THE OVERALL DIAMETER THE SAME AS THE 14' W/ TIRE AND THE 16' W/TIRE. IF YOU DON'T AND YOU GET THE WRONG OFFSET RIM. YOU ARE GOING TO RUN INTO THE PROBLEM YOU ARE HAVING. I ALSO DO NOT RECOMMEND USING ANY OTHER STRUT OR SHOCK COMBO.. UNLESS IT HAS BEEN DESIGNED FOR THAT VEHICLE.. PLAY IT SAFE. GOOD LUCK.
