I have a 1987 Toyota Camry,it has the automatic shoulder seatbelt/harness.The driver side stopped working and is stuck.I checked fuses. I looked in a chilton and it says take it to dealer.Cant really affored. How do i fix it or at least retract it out of the way? thx
Answer -
they a in-depth to fix... i would bring it to the dealer. you are better off. they can be crazy to fix on your own.    Yea that's what the book says. One more question. would u know how tho either retract it,or remove the top part? Thx for ur time and effort,Paul.

Answer
it sounds like the motor that drives the belt on the frame of the inside of the vehicle has froze up.. they usually last a long time. unfortunatly they need to be replaced and usually can not be moved once lock up. i really do not know how else to help.. the dealer seems to be the only real fix. i would hate to see you hack up the interior trying to make it work.let me know how you make out.
