Toyota Repair: Ignition Switch, turning the key, detent

My key will not go all the way into the ignition and therefore the car will not start. My brother tried to take the ignition switch out for me, we were going to replace it, but he said there was no way to get it out. Is this a repair that must be done at the dealership? OR can we buy a special tool? The car is a 1992 Camry LE.

if you can expose the ignition switch this is how u do it...... first put the key in the ignition. next look for a small detent it is about halfway back on the cylinder. using a small pick push it in while turning the key nad pull it out. and that should do it. let me know how u do. paul p.
