Tractor Repair: Will not Start, cable clamps, ford tractor

Question
My 1994 1715 ford tractor will not start. After heating glow plugs up and turn switch to start something popped and everything went dead.  Glow plug indicator will not heat up and engine will not turn over.  I have checked the 2 fuses under the dash and they are ok.  Is there another fuse somewhere else that I need to check or what do you think the problem is... Thank you for your help

Answer
First verify that the battery is good and is fully charged.  Then clean and tighten the battery cable clamps if necessary.  Check the negative battery ground cable connection where it grounds to the chassis of the tractor.  These connections sometimes get rusty or loose and don't make contact.  Check where the positive cable connects to the starter and make sure it is clean and tight also.  If everything checks out OK, then possibly there is a fusible link in the wire that goes from the starter to the instrument cluster, fuses, and ignition switch.  A test light or voltmeter can be used to check if there is power to any of these.
