Tractor Repair: Case 1290 Fuel Filter, shut off valve, fuel flow

Question
My Case 1290 quit on me like it ran out of fuel. It had fuel, but I added more. Bled lines - still won't start. I was told to change fuel filters. Is there any way to shut off the fuel to change the filters - it is running out when I loosen the bolt? Any other suggestions as to what might be wrong. I have only had this tractor a few weeks and it has done great until now.

Answer
Hello

It's been awhile since I worked on this model, but I don't think there is a shut off valve to stop the fuel.  I do remember that the knob to shut the engine off works backwards, out is on, in is off.  If you have good fuel flow from the tank and to the injection pump, then loosen all the injection line fittings at the injectors.  Crank the engine over until fuel squirts out at the injectors, then tighten the fittings back up again.  If you still can't get fuel to the injectors, then possibly something happened in the injection pump.
