Tractor Repair: 695 case PTO, pressure gauge, mechanical valve

Our tractor's pto will not come to a stop when the control is put in this position. This makes it impossible to connect the shaft if needed without shutting down. Any suggestions?

Sounds to me that you pto pack is burned up and the plates are seized together. You are going to have to take the pack out and rebuild it. Sorry no easy solutions, you can install a pressure gauge and check to make sure the valve is releasing the pressure but it's a mechanical valve and I have not seen to many get stuck.
