Tractor Repair: Massey 65, massey 65, piston type

My 3. linkage keeps raising and wont stay down. I found the oil filter in the gear box was broken into pieces. I made a new filter housing and fitted a new filter but the 3. linkage still raises and wont stay down. It is a piston type lift. Any ideas what may cause this problem?

This could be a simple matter of adjusting the stop nut position or its too tight. There are instructions in your manual to cover this.So no point in my going through this again.

This sounds like a sticking or damaged control valve or spring your handbook does cover this.
Did you clean out the sump after you replaced the filter housing!
