Triumph Repair: 67 Spitfire Mk III float bowl flooding, spitfire mk, float bowl

Question
I'm restoring a 67 Spit and have problems with the front carb float bowl leaking out the breather hole. Have already checked out the needle valve (replaced with Grouse jet ball valves too) and new floats. Is there any other cause for float bowl leaking- the rear HS2 works fine and the mechanical fuel pump is new. At this point I have put back the old float because the new one can't be height-adjusted as it has no metal hinge lever. Any thoughts?  Thanks!

Answer
When you have a float with no metal tab to bend to adjust level, You must add or subtract washers/gaskets under the needle valve to get the level correct.
Unless you have a crack in the cover, the only way fuel can get into the float chamber is past the needle valve. It is either bad of you have the float adjusted wrong or it is leaking under the needle valve washer.
