Triumph Repair: 73 spitfire, frame body, rubber pads

Question
hello Jim. I have stripped down a 73 spit. for complete restoration but have a
problem as I am about to put the body back on the chassis. There are four
spacers,I think, that go between the body and chassis. two are rubber and
two are alloy (again I think!). I am not sure if the alloy spacers go with the
bolts over the rear axle or is it the rubber ones? The other position for
spacers is, I think, the two bolts just rear to the seats. Can't find body
mounting details in any parts diagrams. Can you help me?

Answer
Neil,

Yes, all of the manuals seem to conviently leave out the details on where the frame/body pads went originally.  If I'm remembering correctly there should be at least 4 rubber pads, 2 go to the mount point in front of the firewall and 2 go the bolts just behind the seats.  The behind the set location may also get the alloy spacers.... I'd have to pull the body off of one of the 1500s in the barn to verify.

Cheers,

Jim
