Triumph Repair: Defroster short, oil pressure switch, brake warning light

Question
-------------------------
Thanks David, that helped.

On another quirk.  When I turn on the fan, I immediately have a fuse go red hot and blow.  Where's the best place to begin looking for a short?  I want to avoid removing the fan.

Also, have a brake warning light that never goes off when car is running.  Changed out the pressure switch to no avail.  Any thoughts?

Thanks so much

Answer
joe, does the fan run at all? it could be the problem it self. if it is locked up the fuse will blow , or if it is turning slow because of rust it will do that too.it might be a wire around the switch to the fan that is touching direct metal and when turned on just grounds big time! as far as the brake light, which is stupid, is a pos wire that grounds if the pressure switch is moved. unplug it and see if it goes out if it does i guess that one is moved also. it connects to the oil pressure switch too.the book says to re-center the switch bleed the opposite side of the system but how do you know which that is? all stupid. any way try a few things and let me know.
