Answer
You mean the lock wont work with the key?
It is as if the key doesn't fit?

Or does the door handle not work?

In the first case, either the lock, key or both are worn out, maybe a key copied from the original
by a skilled cutter would work in the lock.

The simplest trick is to swap the locks, left to right ;-), they're held in by a clip and a slotted piece of metal.

no dealer... old car...  scrapyard would supply you with a lockset (doors, boot, steering lock, petrol cap), for probably £50, £70 easy -
Or you could buy a single door lock and key for about £30 but then you would need 2 keys for the car, one to get in, one to start it.

In the second case, the pushrod to open the latch has come off on either the latch end or the handle end - open the door and shake it in and out, you will hear the rod hitting the inside of the door - take off the door panel and push it back into its slot - (a well placed zip-tie can prevent it popping back off)
