UK Car Repair: Jaguar oem replacement steering wheel, grub screws, oem replacement

Question
I would like to replace the black, leather clad steering wheel on my 1971 XKE Series III, with a wood 3 spoke Moto-Lita OEM replacement steering wheel. Are any special tools or proceedures required?

Answer
No it is quite straightforward providing it comes with the correct adaptor. Make sure the wheels are in the ahead position, remove the three small grub screws which secure the wheel centre -they go in sideways behind and around the spokes. The centre cap will then come off revealing the nuts. The wheel usually comes off fairly easily, do not lose the lock collars for the adjustable column.
