UK Car Repair: Power window stuck down, power window switch, auto parts stores

Hi my power window is stuck down which really isn't good practice where I live.  I own a 92 vauxhall carlton.   I really just want the window up, but if it can easily be fixed the better.  I already cheacked the fuses.  It has to be wiring or the switch.  I tried taking the switch apart but it won't come apart.  The window would normally be tempermental and only work when it wanted too.  I have had no luck asking it to go up, so now I ask you.

Well, one, go to the auto parts store and get a spray can of electric motor and switch cleaner. Attach little red tube to nozzle and blast it into the switch around the button. Do not use the whole can. See if that will work to get the window up. Then leave it up until you can get a new or recycled switch for it. You can purchase a book for it from any of the local auto parts stores and that will be able to diagram the removal of the power window switch and door panel for you as well as a myriad of other things you may need to do to it in the future.
