Volkswagen Repair: 94 Golf wont start, blown fuse, starter relay

Question
94 VW Golf IIIGL I drove my car to work and when I went to leave work the car would not start. everything works, lights, radio ect. but when I turn the key nothing happens. no clicking or turning. I checked the battery and its fine.I dissconnected the battery to reset the alarm thinking that was disabling the starter and still nothing. any help would be greatly appreciated. thankyou.

Answer
Kevin, thank you for your question.  If when you turn the key and don't hear the starter engage, that can be a failing ignition switch, blown fuse, dead solenoid on the starter, or dead starter relay.  If the engine turns over but doesn't start then the problem is usually the coils have died.   This can also be corroded battery terminals.
Hope that helps
