Volkswagen Repair: 96 Passat V6 suspension, power door locks, rear struts

Question
1.  My car is riding rough.  When I hit a bump it is much more rough than in the past.  I pushed down on all the quarter panels and the car went down and came back up only once.  It did not bounce several times.  Additionally when I go around a left hand curve the car feels as if it shifts several inches to the right and I hear a clunking noise.  What could be causing this?
2.  I have electric power door locks.  When I lock my car from the outside with the key all the locks go down.  However, the lock on the left rear door comes back up making that door unlocked.  When I lock the doors from the inside the left rear door lock stays down in the locked position.  What causes this?

Answer
Chris, Thank you for your questions.
1.   The problem with the rear end.  This can be from a loose or damaged rear stabilizer bar.  Additionally, you may have a problem with the rear struts or shocks are leaking, broken, or damaged in some way.  Loose shock towers will also cause that sound too.
2.   The problem with the door locks could very well be the outside door lock.  This type of door lock has a relay/solenoid attached to it.  Can also be a bad ground to the lock or a power wire is damaged.  This sort of thing can happen when the door has been “slim jimmed”  or the lock has gotten water inside of it somehow.
Both of these problems are going to be best solved by taking the car to a Qualified repair center
Hope that helps
