Volkswagen Repair: car jerks., tight belt, coil car

Question
1990 golf,214000 kms,got car free. Replaced fuel filter, spark plugs, ignition coil.
Car starts jerking when car starts getting warm and when you punch the gas pedel.

Answer
Chris,

Check the distributor cap and rotor, as well as your ignition wires. It sounds like the spark is straying and causing a misfiring condition.  Take the timing belt cover off, and check that the belt is in good condition (no cracks) and tight (belt should twist 90 degrees only).

Good Luck,

Paul
