Volvo Repair: 2002 Volvo V70 AWD - Transmission 2-3 Flow Surge, volvo v70 awd, volvo v70

Question
Our 2002 V70 AWD, with 58k miles, was recently damaged in an accident.  It was initially struck in the front passenger side tire and sustained damage to the entire right side of the car, including the front suspension. The accident occurred in a parking lot and impact was only at about 10mph.  The car has since been repaired both cosmetically and mechanically.  However, now when the car shifts from 2nd to 3rd gear it surges?  I was advised to have the "transmission software" uploaded, which I did, and that it may take a few hundred miles for the "adaptive learning" aspect of the transmission to recalibrate based on my driving style?  Needless to say the car still surges.  Is there a better/faster fix?  Thank you!
