Volvo Repair: 1999 volvo gearbox, automatic gearbox, time alan

hi there,i have replaced the automatic gearbox on my t reg *1999,v70 estate,no mean task.the gearboxes both had the same code. all was well until i came to put the sport,econ,winter mode spindle into the top of the gearbox. the hole for fitting it was not there.it does however have a 3 pin connection on the bottom of the gearbox.can i connect he connector to this 3pin connector.if so c do you know which wires go where.at the moment i can pull off in either mode which is not very safe. thanks for your time.

  Alan, what do you mean "the same code" If it is a "direct replacement" it should have all connectors etc. right where the old ones were. It sounds to me like you got a non-ECT trans? I hope I am wrong as you were very brave to attempt this and it's a lot of work. I assume you got a slvage trans.?
    What fixture did you use to hold things?
