volvo fuel door stuck closed how to open without messing the door up.

if you go to the trunk  on the right side were gas door is  look behind the trim  in the trunk on the right side remove the cover on the right side and any insulation from inside and look at the area  were the fuel door will be you will see fuel door lock now you have to move with you finger or small tool the push rod inside and the fuel door will open after you open it unplug the fuel door lock motor so it don't lock anymore   so you don't have the problem again if you like it to fix you will need new lock motor you will change it same way from inside and install it just remove two screws (torx 25) from the fuel door after you open it  and the lock motor will fall inside the car  install new one from inside  line up the screw holes and put the bolts back from outside by fuel door i hope it helps
