Volvo Repair: S60 Low Beam Replacement, low beam, tight spaces

Question
Hello

I am very frustrated.. trying to replace the low beam bulb.

First, can the whole module be removed to make it easier to install low beam bulb?

I have tried to replace bulb w/ whole light module in.. very tight spaces.

Also, it seems like the bulb does not latch very well.

Can you help?

Thanks

Answer
Well it is highly recommended to replace the bulb with the lens in the car.  To remove the lens woukld require removal of the bumper. (spaces much tighter).  You can remove the air cleaner housing for more room on the driver side.  The passenger side is just tight.  The bulb is held in by the wire clip, it usually does not have an issue of coming loose.  If you are having trouble, its kind of hard to describe any easier way of installing it.  If you are at a dealer for an oil change or other service they should install it for you free of charge.  I do several bulbs a day.  (bulbs have to be paid for though).  Of course if you are under warranty then the bulb replacement will be covered for no charge.  (4 years or 50,000 miles from original purchase date.)
