Volvo Repair: V70 2001 auto transmission, driveability problems, 530d

Question
I have a 2001 v70 2.4 170 and the transmission service light has come on. I took it to a local specialist and he reset it for me. The fault code was ECM 530D. after about 300 miles it has come on again...I think the transmition seems all ok but sometimes when i have just stopped with the  brake depressed, after about a second the car does a small jolt as it changes gear.
What do oyu think vould be the problem

Answer
Sorry for the delay.  The ECM-530D code is the code which says "fault in transmission module".  There is no fault tracing for this code. It is only there to indicate there is a trans problem.  Have the transmission module codes read off.  If your mechanic cannot do it then you will need to see a dealer.  Most likely you will have to have the transmission replaced to fix this problem.  Once actual driveability problems arise (your jerking) you have to replace the transmission.  Your problem sounds like it could be a sticking solenoid so you can replace just the valve body if that is in fact whats wrong.  That kind of fix however doesn;t last as long as a new transmission.
