Volvo Repair: Volvo S80T6 new throttle body ?, throtle body, volvo s80t6

Question
Hi there

I have a volvo s80 T6 1999 just after i brought a year ago i took it to have some work done and the volvo dealer said that it need a new throtle body or a clean out so i said give it a clean out even though there was no problem with it before it whent in(never mind).

The car had to go back in last week for a service and other things (£1900) which where new heater matrix, turbo seals and front sway bars and i got the car back last thursday.

Last friday the car whent in to get you home mode ( 10mph 2000 revs) so i took it back and asked them what they had done to my car?

They said it needed a new throtle body but i there has been no problems with it since last year and they day after i get it back from them it cuts out ?

I think i have read some where that there is a recall for this?

Any help would be much apprecitated.

Many thanks

P.s If you get time after this i also have a problem with the front suppension!

Answer
Yes there is a warranty for that item, at least in the united states.  I only know of warranties and recalls that Volvo Cars North America issues.  There is an extended warranty for the throttle unit up to 200,000miles (not sure what that is in kilometers) or 10 years.  I'm not sure what resources to check for other applications in different countries.  Check with governmental records for what recalls, service campaigns, bulletins, etc. manufacturers issue.  Usually that kind of thing is public record.  Good luck in trying to find it.
