Volvo Repair: Volvo 850 turbo drain seals and transmission, volvo dealer, volvo 850

Question
Hi, thanks for taking the time to answer my question.

I have a 1996 Volvo 850 Turbo with 110K on it.  Just got a call from the dealer that the Turbo drain tube seals have a leak ($110 to fix).  Is this something that I can do myself?  I have a friend with many tools and equipment and I'm not nervous about doing my own work.  Also, the trasnmission fluid is dirty.  He specifically mentioned a flush, should I actually do a tranny flush or should I just have the fluid changed.  Are discount places safe?

Answer
stay with volvo dealer for repairs .you cant do turbo drain tube seals yourself  it's hard and you have to be under the car  and if you dont know what to remove you my damage more so dont do it .trans flush you can go any were just make sure they do trans flush not drain and fill with  trans flush service you will replace all fluid and with drain and fill from the plug under the car only half of the fluid will come out and other half fluid  stays inside    flush is better .fluids are allways good to change trans fluid change it every 15000-30000 miles good luck
