Volvo Repair: 1987 volvo 240 dl, volvo 240 dl, fuse box

Question
Hello, recently while going through the wiring on the aforementioned Volvo a wire pulled out of what I can only describe as a green "circuit board" connected to the ac compressor.  Afterwards the car would not start, so I assume that wire is the culprit.  My question is this...the wire is not connecting back into the "circuit board" well, so I would like to know a). what that green thing is and b). if I can bypass that green circuit board and just connect the wires directly, without them connecting to the circuit board.  Thank you.

Answer
Hello Mark,
I do not know of any wire that would stop your engine from running..related to the operation of the A/C unit.
Be sure to check fuse on the inner left fender...under the P/S fluid container.....I really doubt that your problem relates to the A/C.
Check out the fuse box...BE CERTAIN that all the fuses are good....clean contacts as needed with a plumbers pipe brush...it does a great cleaning job...never use aluminum fuses.
           good luck,
