Volvo Repair: 1987 Volvo 240, volvo 240, gas oil

Question
I have a 1987 240 Vovo.  This past weekend  my car started sputtering and would not go past 3rd gear. I knew I needed oil, but I put a little bit too much in. I went to a mechanic and had it drained and I got an oil change. The car did run a little smoother afterward but it is still dputtrting a little in 2nd and 3rd gear.  What else could be the problem?

Answer
Dearest Erica...
The answer to your problem is hidden behind many..many questions....how old are your....spark plugs...wires....coil ?...maybe a crappy load of gas...

Oil is critical...the proper amount is VERY IMPORTANT..VERY.
Kiss your engine good-bye if you don't care for this important engine fluid.
O' by the way...I don't think adding or subtracting oil healed your engine or had any effect on engine operation....unless you REALLY over filled it.
Find a honest Volvo mechanic....and use him to trouble shoot your symptoms....carefull out there...$800 fuel puumps are awaiting you at "other" repair shops
