Volvo Repair: v40 recirculating vent relay, air switch, repair manual

Question
when i switch off the recirculing air switch i get a loud clicking noise from behind the dash on the passenger side,can i stop this i dont mind if the recirculation mode wont work again as long as the noise can be stopped.i have tried to gain access behind dash unsuccessfully can you help please.

the dashboard needs to be pulled forward to access the motor for the recirculation door.the motor is bad and is making the noise.there is no easy way to access it.you could try to purchase a repair manual that shows detailed instructions for removing the dashboard.
