BMW: 325e driveshaft bearing replacement, drive shaft, yokes

Hello Josh, this is Jonathan. I had asked about a week ago about my driveshaft frozen u-joint problem. I found a shop that can replace the bearings, spider, basically rebuilding the driveshaft, for $325. They do not replace the yokes or anything else, they just push the old bearings out and put new ones in with a new spider and "stake" the new bearings in to place in the yokes. They offer a one-year warrantee. Does this sound like a good way to go or should I do something different?

 Its hard to say... the only way I would be against it, is if I could buy a NEW driveshaft for close to the same price.  If a new driveshaft is going to cost $350-$400, I would probably just get a whole BALANCED driveshaft.  You would be much better off.  But if you can only find driveshafts for $600... I agree with you.. just have the U-joint replaced.  Make sure that the drive shaft is balanced after you get done.
