BMW: stalling at running temp, fuel pressure regulator, cone filter

Question
Josh, I just purchaced a 1987 325e. I used to have an eratic idle problem from the start. I fixed it by checking all the connections for proper voltage and cleaning all terminals from the ICV to temp sensor. I even cleaned the ICV and it's controller contacts. After the cleaning I still would have the car stall out at approx 10-15mins into the idle. Now 2 weeks later, as soon as the car gets to running temp she will stall out and is very hard to start. When I hand run the throttle at the running temp the car acts as if the choke is on (hesitation). I have so far replaced the O2 sensor, all vacum lines, and cleaned all connetions again. The car has a high flow exhaust system, cone filter with heat shield, and a performance chip. I have a spare coil, and temp sensor that I am going to switch out. Also I have a adjustible fuel pressure regulator with a gauge on its way too. Im just running out of funds quick on this car. When I drive the car it runs fine(super quick), but when I stop at lights and such it dies. Again the systoms arise when she runs hot(15mins into idle)
Thanks Russ

Answer
Russ,
Are you saying the engine is running hot?  Like there is a radiator/cooling problem?  If that is the case, the thermo-time switch will effect the running of the engine.  Check all the sensors on top of the thermostat housing, of one is not working correctly (common problem) the engine will run funny.

 Good luck,
 Josh
