i was wondering what parts from other year e30 fit my car i have a 1987 bmw 325i convertible.  i need a front valance lip spoiler and i found one on ebay it looks like it would fit but it is off a 1984 318i bmw.  will it fit?

Danielle,
All hoods/fenders are the same from 1984-1991 hard top or convertible.  Unfortunately the the lip spoilers did change some between the years.  HOWEVER.... they will all bolt up and work.  One thing first.... If you're car is an automatic it will have a transmission fluid/oil cooler that mounts behind this valence.  IT will need air flow to cool the transmission fluid, and I think you will have to get one of these.  I haven't looked at the one you are talking about, but the spoiler should have a small vent right in the center of it.  This it to allow air to flow through and cool the transmission cooler.

I own an 87 Convertible that I built from the ground up, so if you have any other questions I would be delighted to answer them
 Thanks Danielle,
 Josh

Answer
Danielle,

I should rephrase what I said about the transmission oil cooler.  There is an engine oil cooler behind this, regardless of an automatic or manual transmission.

As long as the valence/lip spoiler has the vents in the front-center... you will be fine.  It will used the exact same bolts and everything should line up fine.

 Good luck
 Josh
