why does my car keep draining batteries i bought a new alternator and now two batteries

Answer
You need to install an amp meter inbetween the negative battery post and the negative battery cable and see how many amps the vehicle is drawing out of the battery. Maximum amperage draw is 1/2 amp.

Did you test the alternator to make sure that it is charging correctly ?.


NOTE: I have found lately that new batteries are not fully charged when you get them. Put the battery on slow charge for 24 hours and see if this resolves your problem.
