Cadillac: 86 de Ville no start, code capability, throttle switch

Question
I obtained this vehicle from a charity outfit. I have no repair history. There is evidence of frequent "jump starts" and the battery would not hold a charge. I drove the car home, about 50 miles, and parked it over night. The next morning it would start and run for about 2 seconds. After 3 attempts the battery was dead. I installed a new battery but the pattern repeated. One attempt and it would fire for 2 seconds then nothing on the second attempt. After 10 minute wait it would repeat the 2 second run then nothing. After looking at your site, I learned about the error code capability. I have the following codes: E27, E52, E53.

Answer
E27 = open throttle switch on the idle speed control motor.

E52 = battery was disconnected.

E53 = Distributor signal interrupt.

CLEAR all the codes from the computer and see which codes come back and tell me EXACTLY how they display as if you were video taping them.
