Cadillac: 1990 Caddy Seville 4.5l, timing light, jump point

Question
Finally, it starts, the reason, I forgot to install the metal ground strap under the coil to the dist cap. Now i put a new pick-up coil in the dist. and put the dist in wrong and now i'm trying to get the correct timing. I have a timing light, but there is a few other steps that are on the posted on the hood; 1. Make sure the air cleaner and air conditioner is off. 2. Make sure the engine is running at normal temp, and set timing as follows. Jump point A and B on the A.L.D.L connector, located underneath the dash to display the timing settings and set the rpm under 900rpm's. Then use the timing light adjust the timing on the dist. My problem is i don't know where the heck the A.L.D.L connector is, and how it looks. Oh, by the way, what would cause my car to have a NO reading of 1561.1ppm's when it should be at 984ppm's. Please Help Me. Thanks.

-----Question-----
Hello, it tried to start but it didn't. I had a mechanic look at it and he said i had a weak spark that i needed a pick-up coil. So i purchased a pick-up coil from Autozone. Now he removed the distributor and replaced the new coil with the older one. He was supposed to install it but he didn't. So i took it in my hands and installed it myself not knowing that it must be installed the same way it was removed. I tried to start it up and it didn't start. But when i looked for OBD codes i had two new codes which were m448 and m552. I might be wrong, i need to know what other possibilities can it be and if i installed it wrong what other problems i may have caused. Thank You.

-----Question-----
Actually its a 1990 caddy, and yes i do have a spark. When i failed my emissions test a friend told me to take the thermostat out and retake the test. Unfortunately while in the process of driving antifreeze was spraying on the engine  and i believe it got to the distributor. I don't know what can stop my car from starting but its frustrating. Some tell me its the timing some say fuel pump, and some say distributor. I know its not the fuel because i used the quick start on the carb. Please help Happy Holidays.

-----Question-----
After failing an Emissions test I installed a complete tune up in my caddy, everything checked  out be ok. The car was running just fine except for the car idling a little high.
But after the tune up the car won't start, it'll just turn but won't start, i tried to look out for a spark for the plugs, the firing order is correct, the cap is brand new so is the coil and the ignition module tested good what should i do Tom? Thx

Do you have spark at the spark plugs ?.

Go back over your work and see if you forgot to plug something back in.
-----Answer-----
If you try starting fluid does the engine try to run ?.

-----Answer-----
Something does not make sense. If you have ignition to the spark plugs and it won't even try and start on starting fluid. Your ignition spark must be weak or you have something wrong in the distributor.

Did your computer for CODES by simultaneously pushing the OFF and WARMER buttons on the display center.
-----Answer-----
There are no "m" codes. The codes you got are most likely "B" codes.

B448 = very low AC refrigerant in the system.
B552 = the battery was disconnected.

You could have a faulty COIL, Ignition module or you installed the pickup coil wrong.

Answer
As per the coil ground strap. That was not to bright, If you don't mind my saying so.

The ALDL is located under the dash between the steering column and the parking brake. It is a small black rectangular box that has I believe 10 square holes in the connector and only 5 have wires in them and they are lettered in the plastic A-B-C-D etc.

Your ppm's are wrong most likely due to the massive amount of fuel in the engine oil due to trying to start it.

Replace the oil and filter.
