Chevrolet: whinning sound with acceleration, center bolt, torque wrench

Question
I have a 1994 camaro 5.7 and have had the harmonic balancer off several times. I just put it back on and seemed to strip out the center bolt it needs to go on about 1/8 of an inch more. I got the bolt snug but cannot use to pull on further. i did put the belt on and now there is a whinning sound with acceleration. Could this be related?

Answer
If the harmonic bal. is on wrong or bolt striped, than the bolt is not in all the way and this is causing the belt to be in a off center position so until it is in the right way you will have the noise or worse.--I would take the bolt out spray some air in the hole than with the proper tap / die have some one that knows how to do it the right way - this way you will have the threads re tapped and with a new bolt and washer and locktight and torque wrench you will be back to new,  ok
