Chevrolet: automotive, chevy lumina, change oil

Nice to meet you Roger. I have a 1997 Chevy Lumina. My "Change Oil Soon" light stays on longer than I think it should, about 3 minutes, even after changing the oil. My question is :
 Can I take the oil sensor plug off and clean it or should I just replace it. Thanks. Your friend,Steveo!

     Hea - i hope that you changed the filter also. Well as far as the sensor plug , you can try to clean it , see if it helps , but the main thing is that the light does go out if it did not go out than there is something wrong.
You can replace the sensor but it still might do the same thing , my chevy p/u does the same thing it will come on when I start it and go out after a min.  and the main thing is that it goes out. if you just had your oil changed it might go out after you put some miles on it.   ok ..>
