Chevrolet: Thermostats, chevy k1500, thermostats

Question
I have a 95 Chevy K1500 with a 305. It has a slight leak from the thermostat housing and I figured I'd replace the thermostat at the same time I replace the gasket. I've found four different temperature thermostats that will work. I've also heard different stories about which is best, hotter or colder. What do you recommeded?
Thanks for your help.

Answer
Hi Craig;
        Well it depends where you live at , if it is real cold I would put in a warmer one and if in Fla. or Calif. put in a cold one. If you have no trouble with your motor you could use any one that thay recomend. as long as it is in a range of 160 - 180 .  also clean the area well and use a good sealer and do not over tighten the housing as thay do crack easy.  ok
