Hi Roger, Ive talked to you a couple of times and youve been alot of help. I have a 72 Nova. 350 MSD ignition,MSD dist., MSD superconductor wires, MSD cap and rotor. Torker II manifold, Eldebrock 600 carb. 510 LIft cam not sure what make. Ive rebuilt the carb and all the ignition stuff is fairly new. Here is my dillima, The car runs perfect until it gets to 3200 rpm. If Im driving in town it just runs perfect, But the min I hit the freeway Im screwed at 3200 exactly it starts to miss. Ive tried all your suggestions and Im running out of money. Ive put in a new coil,rebuilt carb etc. Am getting plenty of fuel to carb. If Im at 3200 and I step on it The miss goes away. And at high rpm if I let off the gas real fast it will back fire out of exhaust. Ive had the timing set anywhere from 8 before to tdc thats where its set ay now. Dosnt matter wear I set it it will still miss. Does it with vacuum advance hooked or unhooked. When Ive checked the timing Ive also checked to see how steady the mark was. No bouncing around stays in same spot until I gun it and then it advances. Im lost any other suggestions.  Thanks Rick

Hi Rick;
 Well did you try to un hook the tach and see what happens, also it seems as your gas is ok and if you have headers the pop out the ex. is normal , so I think it is elect. are you talking about a [flat spot?] as when you step on it - it will do nothing for a second ? that is the carb. but I think you have a elect. prob. can you set the gap on the dist. if so close it up a lil bit and try that. and how is the cap- wires-and cond. and points if you got them. change them. and try that too. good luck-let me know ok. I hope it is not a valve sticking
roger     Roger unhooked the tach it made no difference. But what did was the metering rods. I went one step richer and that got rid of most my miss.I think alot of my problem has to do with this crappy torker II manifold. It is not really made for street performance. It dosnt even really start working until 2500 rpm. It also likes a larger carb. But since manifolds are cheaper Im thinking about getting the performer EPS manifold. It is reccomended for use with the carb I have. It also works from 0 to 5500 rpm. Ive never reved this motor over 5000. I want a street rod not a dragster. Let me know what you think thanks Rick

 Hea  Rick
        You only have a 600 holly on that m otor ? you are getting fuel BUT not ENOUGH, dam with that cam you can go a lot bigger as I had a 750 dbbl. pumper on a 350 nova and it was ok with a little bit of a hesatation when I would step on it but I think that you need more ventura , as in a larger carb, can you borrow a larger carb from someone to try it ?? than you should see a big difference , and the manifold  you have on it might still be good for you.See if you can try a larger carb, ok, let me know how it works ok
