Chevrolet: Chevy door latch, phillips screws, door latch

Question
Ok I have a '95 Chevey Lumina four door car, and the back driver's side door wont stay shut. The latch wont latch, I can move the latch manually to do the motions it is supposed to do. On a regular door, when I manually move the latch, the latch will lock in the down position, but mine does not. I dont know if it is a spring or whatever keeps it latched, but every time I make a right turn the door comes open. Right now I have a bungee strap on it to prevent it from flying all over the place, but will I need to get another door, or is there a part that I can get from a junkyard or what? Whatever information you are willing to send me will be greatly appreciated.
                       Thank You,

Answer
HI BOB;
     I had a door that did that years ago and I also used a bunji to hold it shut , they work good for a lot of things.
Well do you have a striker on the inside of the door frame as it should be ajustable , it should have 2 or 3 large star or phillips screws ,if so that has to be adj. so the door will stay shut and be like it was, or else it could be broken, as far as the part it should be at or ordered from any CHEVY DEALER, IF NEEDED, and as far as a DOOR no way !
see if you can adj. the plate so it will go back the same way as it was. are you shure it is not broken ? , but yes you can get the part, as far as a junk yard , you could go
to see if they have one and if it looks good to you -I would say to get it if you think it is ok, if so look at it so you remember how it goes back on, or if yours is missing any part/s  ok. good luck with it.
