Dodge: 2000 Dodge Neon dash and tail lights dont work!?~, dodge neon, dash lights

Question
I own a 2000 Dodge Neon ES, and my dash and tail lights don't work.  My headlights, brights, fogs, turn signal, dome and brake lights all DO WORK.  I thought maybe it was a fuse, but I have checked and replaced all under the hood and next to the steering column(inside car) and they are all fine.  I also replaced all the bulbs just in case this was it, but I kinda knew it wasnt since the tail lights and brake lights are off of the same one bulb.  The only other thing I can think of is that the headlight switch is maybe bad and power is not getting to the lights!?  This is also what I have heard from friends.  Am I on the right track or is there a simple, inexpenseive solution that I have not looked at?  Any advice would be helpful, thanks!

Answer
Mike,
You mentioned the headlight switch,if you turn the switch on and the headlights come on you are getting power to the lights. If your headlights are on and no taillights and if you checked all the fuses i would check for a broken or grounded wire.Check for a loose connection at the taillights if it is grounded and tied in to the dash lights and you find a loose connection, this should fix the problem. My concern is why you have headlights and no tail lights!Like i said if you double checked the fuses i would start leaning toward the rear of the car for a bad connection.
