Ford: compressor clutch, compressor clutch, pressure switches

Question
I have a '96 ford t-bird with a 4.6 v/8. when I turn on the air conditioning the clutch on the compressor does not engage. I checked the fuses for a blown one and couldn't find any that were. There is a connector on top of the compressor in the front right by the clutch. With the engine running and the a/c on I checked with a volt meter to see if there was power there but could not tell for sure. Could it be the pressure switches and if so how could I check these?

Answer
Jeff there is an a/c cycle switch in top of the accumlator lust unplug it and jump the conectors and the comp. should come on .if it does then  you need to ck. freeon pressure or you have a bad switch if the pressure is reading rt. Low side is 35 to 40 high side is 200 to 225
