GM-GMC: fuel pressure, fuel pressure regulator, fuel issues

Question
QUESTION: after changing my fuel pump in my buddies gmc 96 1500 truck still wouldn't start ....bled the the line on the fuel rail checked the lines for kinks and ground wires for bad connections and fuses ..all good ...plenty of pressure coming though the lines at fuel rail bleeder and increased pressure like it should when being turned over ...still wont start...but put a little fuel in by hand and it runs until you stop feeding it ...any ideas

ANSWER: you have answered it really... even though you didnt find leaks there is a blockage somewhere because the fuel is not making it all the way to start the vehicle. fuel filters. if you are feeding the carb and the truck is runnin and quits when you stop i would also check the carburator have you watched it to see if the gas is gettin all the way in there? you can tell by opening the door... throttle body may have an issue too... i was sort of surprised at the carb i would think it was fuel injected but if its not good because carbed is easier to fix.

even if there is enough pressure coming from the pump if the carb is not working properly its not goin to start and did you check the fuel regulator? it all falls upon you feeding the truck and it running till it goes dry .. fuel is not making it all the way...

im sorry things of this nature im better at hands on especially fuel issues. let me know how it goes

QUESTION: its not a throttle body its spider fuel injection and i think i have checked everything ...the only thing i can think of and have heard from a few people is that i might have to take it into the dealership to get the spider injection lines vacuumed out because changing the pump and the filter something might have slipped by and plugged up the lines and so I've heard that is the only way to clean them out...and just to follow up all relays are good and i did change the fuel pressure regulator so i just don't know at this point

Answer
i do not know about having to go to the dealer i would check with a trusted mechanic but you have done everything i would i am still wondering where is the stop in fuel? it stops in the injectors ok then maybe they need cleaning but isnt the issue why you changed the pump in the first place? so whatever it was was already in there. sorry this is something that if i was there it would be easier to address ..
