GM-GMC: 98 chev cavalier 2.2L Oil Light, low oil pressure, oil light

Hello,

My car was just worked on..timing chain and all components were changed, new oil pump, new gaskets for almost everything, new spark plugs & wires. well now 2 weeks later my oil light is coming on when i slow down to 1000rpms and will go back off when i go about 1000 rpms. I also hear a light tapping noise that sounds like its coming from around the oil pan area. have you ever dealt with a problem like is?

A few things don't sound too good.  One being a knocking noise in conjunction with an oil pressure indicator light being on.  You should not run the engine until you figure out if and or why you have low oil pressure.  This type of problem is far more common with a 2.4L engine.  Return to the shop that performed the work and discuss it with them.  Something is defineatly wrong.
