Honda: s2000 for sale, kelley blue book, dupont registry

Question
we are trying to sell our 2001 white/redleather little beauty. we tried to sell in fall of 2003, but thought that the season(fall) and asking price(27,500) worked against us,  then,  we have tried a full coverage 10 day ad in our local(madison wi) newspaper in mid july.  one person called. we asked 21,500 it's in great shape with 34,000mi. any suggestions to help us get this winner to a deserving s2000head?  ty

There are a few things to keep in mind...
1.  Convertibles are considered seasonal cars.  Like you have already suggested, timing is key.
2.  In the same respect, location is important.  A used car dealer in Louisiana would most likely ship an S2000 to Florida or California in order to get the best deal possible.  Your climate could play a role in the lack of interest in your ad.  SELL NATIONALLY (See Bottom)
3.  Someone looking for an S2000 has most likely done some research and knows that the MY2000 and MY2001 came with plastic rear windows w/o defrost; MY2002 and later had glass. Keep in mind that some would rather spend the extra money for a glass rear window.

As I'm sure you already know, Kelley Blue Book says you should expect between $19,000 and $21,500 depending on if your car is in good condition or excellent condition.  Personally, I would stress the rarity of the "Grand Prix White" color, which comes only with Red interior.

In order to get the best buy, you may need to sell nationally...there are many databases online that will allow people in warmer climates to bid on your vehicle,  This can be benificial to the buyer and seller; he goes where there's no market for convertibles, and you go where there is a market...you meet halfway.
