Mercedes: Odometer, drive shaft, spedo

Can you please give me any information on how to repair the odometer on my 1978 450 slc.  The speedo works just fine.

I have the reverse problem. The spedo is dead but the odometer still works. Honestly, I am not sure if the odometer is mechanical or not. If it is not mechanical and has a broken drive shaft, I expect that the whole display will need to be replaced.
